You are invited to attend a demonstration of mediumship on Wednesday Oct 19th to benefit the historic Hydesville Schoolhouse restoration project.

These mediums are some of Mavis Pittilla's advanced students of professional caliber. Although not all attendees will receive a reading, you may very likely to be one of the lucky ones to hear from your loved ones in spirit.

Why The Hydesville Schoolhouse?

This is a project near and dear to Mavis's heart, as Mavis has been involved with Spiritualism for over 50 years.

Hydesville, New York is the birthplace of Modern Day Spiritualism that began in 1848 when the Fox sisters started to hear mysterious rapping. They discovered that this rapping responded to their questions. Ultimately it was determined that the communication was from a peddler who has been murdered by the previous tenant of the Fox family's home prior to the Fox family moving into it.

When it became known that the Fox sisters had the ability to communicate with the deceased loved ones of others, the Fox sisters become celebrities of their era. This sparked a huge interest in communicating with the dead which spawned the Spiritualist movement.
Reverend Janet Nohavec, of the Journey Within Spiritualist church purchased the schoolhouse in order to preserve a bit of this history. (The original home of the Fox family burnt to the ground). She is in the process of restoring the schoolhouse to serve as a Spiritualist Healing Temple.

WHAT IS A GALA DEMONSTRATION OF MEDIUMSHIP? This is an event where a medium, or mediums give messages to the people in the audience. The medium(s) give as many messages as the time of the event allows. If you attend, you are not guaranteed a message.

TIPS FOR ATTENDING: Please try and keep an open mind; try not to fixate on only one person that you’d like to hear from. If you understand most of the information the medium is saying, please raise your hand and speak up when the medium addresses you. It is helpful for the medium to hear your voice; however, please do not volunteer information to the medium.
